Below is a list of LGBT elected officials in California who have agreed not to take money from Tobacco Companies thanks to an effort from Naphtali Offen, Research Associate with the LGBT Tobacco Research Project at the University of California, San Francisco.  This is an effort to deny these companies the legitimacy and respectability they seek. Click here to see the a sample pledge.  Click here to see a PowerPoint presentation on the methods and approach of the organizers.

If you would like to learn more about how you can approach your elected officials or if you know of LGBT elected officials in your area who have signed a similar pledge, please contact Naphtali Offen at napthali.offen@ucsf.edu.

A special thanks to:

California State Assemblyman John Laird (Santa Cruz)
California State Senator Sheila Kuehl (Santa Monica)
California State Senator Carole Migden (San Francisco, Marin, Sonoma)
California State Assemblywoman Jackie Goldberg (Los Angeles "termed out")
